Akij Cement Company Ltd awarded the design, fabrication and erection of their new factory at Bandar, Narayanganj to PEB Steel Alliance Ltd. The job was awarded on 22 December 2016 and was the last major project signed by PEBSAL in 2016.

The ceremony took place in their Office on Gulshan - Tejgaon Link Road. The occasion was graced by the presence of Mr. Sheik Bashiruddin, Managing Director, Akij Group, Engr. Newaz Khan, Chairman, PEBSAL and Mr. Jowher Rizvi, Managing Director of PEBSAL. Mr. M.R. Jamil, Executive Director of Akij Group, Engr. Mosharof Hossain, Manager Civil Engineering Dept and Mr. Siraj from Akij Group, Engr. Partho Ghosh, COO, PEBSAL and Engr. Md Iktearul Islam, Assistant Manager, PEBSAL also attended the ceremony.

The gable framed structure will be unique in that it will be built with clear span of 193.5 ft and a clear height of 55.76 ft. The weight of the building will be well over 1,700 MT which will allow a spread of over 138,000 of covered space.

The project has been classified as a Fast Track Project with the completion of the design, fabrication and erection within 5 months. It may be noted that the fixing of the anchor bolt is in the finishing stage, sufficient material has already been delivered and the erection will commence in the first week of February which is scheduled to be completed by end of April 2017.
